Senior SEO Specialist
Job Description:
Senior SEO Specialist
Position Overview
Farahi Law Firm is an award-winning personal injury firm dedicated to fighting for the injured and delivering exceptional legal representation. We are a fast-growing, client-centric team that values aggressive advocacy, innovation, and community impact. We compete in one of the most aggressive organic search markets in the country, where our authority profile — not our content volume — is the ceiling on how far we rank. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who has personally built links that move rankings in competitive, high-CPC verticals. You will own off-page SEO end to end: prospecting, outreach, digital PR, and the link acquisition roadmap for our English and Spanish properties, while mentoring our existing Link Builder and raising the standard of what we accept as a placement. This is not a technical SEO ticket role — our in-house development team owns site fixes and implementation. This is an authority-building role.
Key Responsibilities
Link Acquisition & Digital PR
Own the off-page roadmap: target pages, anchor strategy, monthly link velocity, and authority targets by practice area and by city.
Personally prospect and secure high-quality editorial placements — legal directories, local news, community and sponsorship coverage, industry publications, and university/association resources.
Run digital PR and HARO/Qwoted-style expert-source campaigns that convert firm attorneys into quoted sources with earned links.
Build linkable assets in partnership with the content team: original data studies, safety and claims research, local resource hubs, and statistics pages.
Develop and maintain outreach sequences, pitch angles, and relationship pipelines that produce repeatable placements rather than one-off wins.
Local & Geographic Authority
Build citation and local authority for our California service-area pages and Google Business Profiles.
Identify sponsorship, community event, and partnership opportunities that produce legitimate local links.
Coordinate with the merchandise/vendor and events side of marketing so sponsorships are converted into online mentions and links.
Quality Control & Risk Management
Enforce a written quality standard for every placement: real traffic, real editorial process, topical relevance — no PBNs, link farms, or paid schemes that put the domain at risk.
Run continuous backlink audits; identify and disavow toxic or spammy links.
Monitor competitor link profiles and turn gaps into an actionable prospect list.
Team & Reporting
Mentor and direct the day-to-day work of our Link Builder; review outreach quality, targets, and follow-up discipline.
Report monthly on links acquired, referring domain growth, authority movement, and ranking impact on target pages.
Work alongside the SEO Content Lead, the Spanish/English writers, and the reporting lead so on-page and off-page efforts point at the same priority pages.
Requirements & Qualifications
Required
5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 years focused specifically on link building, digital PR, or off-page strategy.
Demonstrated portfolio of placements personally secured; be ready to walk through specific campaigns, outreach, and ranking outcomes.
Experience in a competitive commercial vertical (legal, medical, finance, insurance, or comparable YMYL space).
Fluent, persuasive written English — outreach is a writing job before it is an SEO job.
Working command of Ahrefs or Semrush, Google Search Console, GA4, and outreach/CRM tooling (Pitchbox, BuzzStream, Hunter, Apollo, or similar).
Strong grasp of Google's link spam policies and what actually carries risk.
Preferred
Spanish/English bilingual — we run a full Spanish-language property and want authority built on both sides.
Personal injury or law firm marketing experience.
Existing relationships with journalists, editors, or publishers in the U.S. legal or news space.
Experience with local SEO, citation building, and multi-location Google Business Profile authority.
Track record building and promoting original-research or data-driven linkable assets.
Success Metrics
First 30 days: complete a full backlink and competitor gap audit for English and Spanish properties, deliver a prioritized 90-day link acquisition roadmap, and publish the placement quality standard.
First 60 days: active outreach pipeline with a tracked prospect list and response rates; first placements secured on priority money pages; toxic link cleanup underway.
First 90 days and ongoing: monthly quota of qualified referring domains met, measurable authority growth on priority pages, ranking improvement on the agreed keyword set, and zero placements that violate search engine guidelines.
